Silver prices fell 0.29 per cent to Rs 42,131 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions amidst a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September moved down by Rs 124, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 42,131 per kg in a business turnover of 67 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December declined by Rs 110, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 42,835 per kg in 158 lots.
Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend, influencing silver prices at futures trade here.
Besides, profit-booking at prevailing levels too weighed on silver prices, they said.
Meanwhile, silver traded lower at $19.49 an ounce in Singapore today from $19.46 on August 29.

ZINC
Zinc futures fell 0.17 per cent to Rs 143.35 per kg today as speculators reduced positions amidst sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in next month declined by 25 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 143.35 per kg in a business turnover of 27 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in the current month traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 142.70 per kg in 442 lots.
Market analysts said the fall in zinc prices in futures trade was due to sluggish domestic demand in the spot market amidst a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange after official gauge of China's industrial activity dropped for the first time in six months.
CRUDE OIL
Crude oil futures declined 0.15 per cent to Rs 5,822 per barrel today in line with a mixed trend in Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in September shed Rs 9, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 5,822 per barrel, with a business volume of 645 lots.
Oil prices for October delivery moved down by Rs 7, or 0.12 per cent, to trade at Rs 5,804 per barrel, with a business volume of 56 lots.
