Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.38 per cent to Rs 43,682 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially trimmed positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September moved down by Rs 165, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 43,682 per kg in a business turnover of 434 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month December declined by Rs 141, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 44,500 per kg in three lots.
Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend as ebbing tensions in the Middle East and Ukraine boosted global equities, damping demand for the metal as an alternative investment, weighed on silver futures here.
Meanwhile, silver traded lower at USD 19.99 an ounce from yesterday's USD 20.01 in Singapore today.

Lead prices softened by 0.25 per cent to Rs 137.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions largely in line with a weak trend overseas amidst subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August declined by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 137.75 per kg in a business turnover of 376 lots.
Analysts said weakness in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange and subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly put pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
Copper prices moved down by 0.44 per cent to Rs 427.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid a weak trend overseas and low demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August shed Rs 1.90, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 427.85 per kg in a business turnover of 1,974 lots.
Analysts said the fall in copper prices at futures trade was largely in tune with a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) ahead of July industrial production and retail sales data tomorrow from China, the world's biggest consumer of industrial metals.
